Lecithin Info
Lecithin is a naturally occurring compound in many plant foods and some animal foods. The liver continually produces lecithin, and its primary role in the body is the breakdown of excess cholesterol and other fats, helping the body maintain healthy cholesterol levels.
Lecithin contains a collection of lipids including two phospholipids that are essential for the health of every tissue in the body. Phosphatidyl choline is an important component of cell membranes and a restorative nutrient for the liver. Phosphatidyl serine helps improve memory, learning, concentration, mood swings and stress response. It has an anti-aging effect on the brain.
Lecithin Benefits
The nervous system, heart and kidney tissues all need lecithin to maintain healthy function. Lecithin is indicated for high cholesterol, gallstones and liver disease. It can help treat liver damage from alcoholism, toxic chemicals, drug use and viral infections, and provide protection from many liver toxins.
Lecithin improves circulation by reducing cholesterol and fats in the bloodstream. It is indicated for treating heart disease, atherosclerosis and hyperlipidaemia.
Lecithin Side Effects
Lecithin is safe to use as directed.
